The Armstrong PTA has been charting the course for the 2024-2025 school year, and we are ready to set sail on a grand voyage with our Armstrong Eagles! Family Giving is a unique and meaningful way for all families to support our amazing school. Did you know that close to 70% of every property tax dollar in HPISD is "recaptured" by the State of Texas to be redistributed to lower-income school districts? The resulting budget gap each year is substantial: $7-8 million annually.

 

What does that mean? We have fewer dollars per student than neighboring districts resulting in lower pay for our teachers. In order to maintain our standard of excellence, private dollars are needed to attract exceptional teachers and programming. This is where we need your help! Come aboard with us! 

 

Armstrong’s shortfall this year is projected to be over $575,000. Family Giving is the first fundraiser of the year and kicks off through Back to School Signup (July 24, 2024 - July 31, 2024). Every dollar raised goes directly to Armstrong and stays at Armstrong, supporting teacher development, salaries, instructional assistants, classroom needs, technology upgrades, and general operations. If every family contributed $1,300 per student, we would close our funding gap. 

 

Your financial support is the wind in our sails, critical to the success of our school! Other fundraisers and corporate sponsorships are also used to close the gap; anything collected above the gap will continue to support Teacher Appreciation efforts and emerging capital needs.​
